One of my all time favorite director Jonas Akerlund has recently created a short film documenting the behind-the-scenes of Lady Gaga’s performance at Moca’s (Museum of Contemporary Art) 30th anniversary gala in Los Angeles on November 14th, 2009.

MOCA( Museum of Contemporary Art)

The actual performance was orchestrated by the Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli and titled “Ballets Russes Italian Style (The Shortest Musical You Will Never See Again)”.

Lady Gaga plays a Steinway grand piano painted with butterflies in spin-art style by Damien Hirst. Her hat / headpiece shaped like an eye was designed by architect Frank Gehry, and she and Vezzoli, who also had a part in the performance wear masks created by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and his production designer wife, Catherine Martin. Accompanying Lady Gaga on stage is a dozen dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet, who are wearing costumes created by Vezzoli and Miuccia Prada, head of the famous fashion house.

It seems to have been an event that truly brings together art of every form.
